There is speculation that he didn’t shoot himself, and that it was a couple kids that shot him. He didn’t want them to get in trouble so he made it seem like he did it himself, if I remember correctly the gun was never found and the type of gun that could have been used was suspected to be owned by a child whose father either owned the gun or made that type of gun I don’t remember that detail.
